This is a model I am using as a leader for the miniatures game SAGA. He represents a fictional Norse-Gael warlord who I’ve named Jarl Eóghan mac Ragnaill.
The model is by Gripping Beast, except the head which I appropriated from an Empire Greatsword by Games Workshop. I removed the Greatsword’s hair and sculpted a beard out of greenstuff.
I would love to help you with your next modelling or miniature painting project, whether it is for illustration, photography, or a static display. The rabbit hole shown here is my first commercial project done for a Telus photo shoot – take a look at my portfolio for examples of my other personal and commercial work.
If you have a project in mind, please drop me a line via the contact form!
I’m very active on Google+ and often share my wargaming posts there. I also run a community for Historical Wargames. Feel free to add me to your circles!
This model was the first I ever entered into a painting competition, namely the Perry Miniatures Painting Contest at Historicon 2012. I managed to take 3rd place in the vignette category!
I painted this last year, but I feel I have already learned so much since then and I’m looking forward to painting display models for competition soon.
I stumbled across the awe-inspiring painting gallery yesterday. I think this will be a great first post for my new painting blog, and an amazing source of inspiration!
